This rear AC bypass unit is designed as a replacement for vehicles originally equipped with rear air conditioning systems using OEM reference 7E1 816 725.
The unit replaces the original rear AC connection and internally blocks the rear air conditioning circuit. This prevents refrigerant from flowing to the rear evaporator and pipe system, while allowing the front air conditioning system to operate normally.
It is an effective solution when the rear AC evaporator is damaged, rear AC lines are leaking or corroded, or when rear climate system repairs are no longer economically viable. It is also commonly used in camper or commercial conversions where the rear AC system has been permanently removed.
